The rotation ledger never lies; it only waits for the fixture list to confess. Vietnam women's volleyball entered this season as Southeast Asia's pace-setter and left it as a team whose peers have started to overtake it. Tactically, the attack had become wing-dependent and predictable. Point 2 and point 4 attacks, easily read and countered, collapsed whenever the block set itself early. The mid-tournament fix—shifting more balls to middle blocker Bich Thuy's quick attack—was a reactive patch, not a structural remedy. The captain, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, scored 36 points at the Asian Games but at low efficiency, a fatigue signature rather than a skill decline after playing a Japanese club season, a domestic league, and four national-team tournaments.
